The Halo Pop bracelet is a beginner-friendly beaded crochet design featuring an easy snap closure, so it slips on and off in seconds with no clasps to fiddle with!
This bracelet is crocheted using my signature bead-as-you-go method, meaning pre-stringing is not required. This technique saves time and gives you creative freedom. You can change bead sequence placement, switch colors, and correct mistakes as you crochet. You will also add the snap closure as you work the project. The bracelet is worked flat using basic crochet stitches and simple variations.

✨ Why I Designed Halo Pop
My design journey for the Halo Pop Bracelet began with a beautiful collection of donut and spacer beads I had on hand. I wanted to create something that would truly let these beads shine, using them as a striking focal point for the bracelet. I also wanted the design to complement and showcase the natural beauty of both the yarn and the beads.
As I began developing the bracelet, ease of use became a central priority. Because I have some dexterity concerns, I intentionally designed a closure that wouldn’t require fiddling with tiny clasps or complicated fasteners. The snap feature allows the bracelet to be put on and taken off effortlessly, while still feeling secure and comfortable once it’s in place. It offers both convenience and style which is something I value deeply in everyday accessories.
Besides thoughtful construction, it is always my goal to design beaded crochet projects that are approachable and enjoyable to make, especially for crocheters who are new to beaded crochet.

🧶 Materials I Used in the Tutorial
Yarn: YarnArt, Begonia, Sport (#2, Fine),100% Mercerized Cotton, 4g in color "5351" or your color(s) of choice. You may use another cotton, bamboo, or cotton-bamboo blend yarn in the same weight.
Hook: Size C (2.75 mm)
Beads: Donut or spacer beads measuring 8–10 mm in dia with 3–4 mm center holes, Small (Medium, Large) = 20 (24, 28) beads in your color(s) of choice. Samples bracelets made with 9mm Czech glass donut beads.
1 Two-piece Sew-on Snap Buckle for DIY Handbags: 3.5 in (~3.90 cm) length x 1 in (~2.50 cm) at the widest part, 18 pre-punctured holes. You may use a longer or shorter snap buckle. See the Sizes section below.

Other Tools: Tapestry needle, scissors, ruler or tape measure, blocking mat, T-pins, tape measure or ruler, and a spray bottle with warm water.
📏 Sizes (After Blocking)
Instructions are written for size Small, with sizes Medium and Large in parenthesis. To adjust bracelet length for wrist size or different snap buckle lengths, work repeat rows more times to lengthen or fewer times to shorten. Add or subtract beads in multiples of 4 accordingly.
Finished Bracelet Lengths: Measured from the center of the snap buckle’s cap to the center of it’s stud: Small (Medium, Large) = 6.5 (7, 7.5) in [~16.5 (18.5, 20.5) cm] length; and 1.5 in (~3.8 cm) width.
💡 Customization Ideas
Have fun and experiment! Try using:
Metallic or semi-precious stone donut or spacer beads
Neon or glow-in-the-dark beads
Multicolored bead patterns
Yarn with metallic mixed in (make sure it feels soft on the skin) or ombré yarns for added depth

💜 Final Thoughts
I had so much fun designing and making the Halo Pop Bracelet. It works up quickly, yet it still feels intentional and meaningful—whether you’re gifting it or snapping it onto your own wrist. Do you see what I did there? 😉
One idea I’m especially excited to explore is lengthening the bracelet by crocheting additional repeat rows to create a choker necklace. I love the bold elegance of choker necklaces, and I can easily imagine Halo Pop evolving into that striking, statement-making style.
Halo Pop is perfect for gift-giving, craft fairs, or simply enjoying a satisfying afternoon project. It’s a small design with big personality—beautiful without requiring a lengthy time commitment. With so many bead colors, yarn combinations, and styling possibilities, each piece can truly be uniquely yours.
If you make a Halo Pop bracelet, necklace, or both, I would love to see it! Feel free to comment here or visit the Blue Yak Creates YouTube channel to share your project, ask questions, or leave suggestions.
Happy crocheting!
