My goal as a designer and teacher is to share beaded crochet in a relaxed, welcoming way, especially for those who may find it intimidating. Mosaic is my latest design, and although it might look complex at first glance, it’s actually a simple and satisfying project that’s perfect for beginners and anyone new to beaded crochet.

✨ Why I Designed Mosaic
I wanted to create something that looked bold and layered, like tilework or weaving, but without the stress of advanced techniques. Mosaic is a small, stackable bracelet that’s just as fun to make as it is to wear. It’s a quick, creative project you can finish in 15–30 minutes, depending on your pace.
Best of all, the beads are added as you go—no pre-stringing required. I’ve always found pre-stringing a bit tedious, so this method lets you jump right in and enjoy the process.
🧶 Materials I Used in the Tutorial
Yarn: Worsted (#4) cotton or bamboo (e.g. Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton)
Hook: Size D-3 (3.25 mm)
Beads: Pony beads (9 mm x 6 mm), 48 total
Tools: Tapestry needle, scissors, tape measure
Optional: Fray Block or other anti-fraying adhesive
The sample bracelet measures 8 in (~20.3 cm) in circumference and has a slight stretch to about 8.25 in (~21 cm). It’s easy to adjust for a perfect fit—just follow the customization tips included.

💜 Final Thoughts
The Mosaic Bracelet has quickly become one of my favorite little projects—simple stitches paired with colorful beads come together in such a fun, modern way. I love how each one feels unique: you can keep it soft and subtle with matching tones or go bold with vibrant contrasts.
The bead-as-you-go technique makes it easy to customize, and the quick finish means you’ll be tempted to make more than one.
I hope you enjoy experimenting with your own colors and textures, and that your bracelet brings you as much joy to wear as it did for me to design.—Renée 🤗
