🎥 Video Tutorial: Cinnamon Roll Beaded Bracelet

Updated: Sep 20

This project began when I was searching for a handmade button to use in a beaded crochet cuff design. I discovered lovely handmade ceramic buttons by Jennifer at Hand Slow Pottery–refer to the Supplies section. As I was developing the design, my husband remarked that the button looked like a cinnamon roll—so the name stuck!

Cinnamon Roll is a fun, elegant, and customizable beaded crochet bracelet. The design features a stretchy band for easy wear—no clasps or closures needed. It utilizes beginner-friendly crochet stitches and simple techniques for adding beads without pre-stringing them.

One of the highlights of this bracelet is the decorative button at its center, which adds charm and personality. You can choose any button, bead, or yarn color that suits your style.

🧶 Materials I Used in the Tutorial

  • Yarn: Knit Picks (We Crochet), Curio #3, 100% Mercerized Cotton

  • Hook: 1.50 mm

  • Beads: Preciosa brand, size 2/0 seed beads, 80 beads total: Bead Color 1, 40 beads in color of choice

  • Decorative Button: Any button you choose that measures between 1 in – 1.75 in (~2.50 – 4.50 cm) in diameter. The button in the bracelet sample is from Hand Slow Pottery https://www.instagram.com/handslowpottery.

  • Other Tools and Notions: 2 locking stitch markers, small tapestry needle (size 18 or 22), scissors, tape measure, scissors, and blocking materials.

💡Customization

To make the bracelet longer or shorter:

  • Place a tape measure around the wrist circumference at the point where the bracelet feels comfortable to wear. Take note of the measurement.

  • Subtract 1.5 in (~3.90 cm) from the measurement.

  • Use the resulting measurement as the target length when rep Rows 1-4 of the Add Beads section of the Instructions.

💜 Final Thoughts

The Cinnamon Roll Bracelet is proof that simple stitches, a few beads, and a special button can come together to create something truly eye-catching. With its comfortable stretch band and no-clasp design, it’s as practical as it is stylish.

I love how this project started with the search for a handmade button and evolved into a bracelet that tells its own story. Whether you use a handcrafted ceramic button like the one that inspired the name, or raid your stash for a bead or charm that makes you smile, this design is meant to be a reflection of you.

Most of all, I hope you enjoy the process—placing each bead, working each stitch, and watching the bracelet grow. It’s a little reminder that creativity often begins with curiosity and ends with something delightful.

So grab your beads, pick your favorite button, and crochet a Cinnamon Roll Bracelet that’s uniquely yours. —Renée 🤗 💕
