I’m Renée. My creative journey began in childhood, when my mom, grandma (“Nanny”), and aunts taught me to crochet, knit, sew, draw, and paint. Those early lessons grew into a lifelong love of making and sharing handmade art.

Beyond crafting, I’m an avid reader who enjoys mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, craft-related books, and the occasional nonfiction title. I also love puzzles and spending time with family and friends playing cards, board games, and video games.
I enjoy adding beads to my crochet and knitting projects, and I love sharing these techniques with other makers.
I design crochet and knitting patterns that blend classic stitches with fresh ideas with a creative twist. From beaded accessories to cozy wearables, my designs emphasize clear instructions, thoughtful details, and flexibility—so you can make each project uniquely your own.
At one point, I suffered severe job-related injuries, and doctors warned that I might never be able to crochet or knit again.
While I still experience daily pain, I'm incredibly grateful to be able to enjoy many of my favorite crafts once more.
One technique that made a big difference is tensioned knitting—also known as Portuguese-style knitting—which I learned from fellow maker and designer Andrea Wong. It allows me to knit more comfortably, and I truly consider Ms. Wong a godsend.
I have a deep appreciation for hiking and spending time in nature, and I aim to explore as many beautiful locations on this planet as possible.
While traveling the California coast, I came across elephant seals, curious ground squirrels, and—best of all—a massive California condor!
Did you spot the seagull behind me? Seeing that little gal or guy reminds me of the movie Finding Nemo (you know, “Mine, mine!”) 😆
During my travels around the world, I have met incredible people who have kindly shared their beautiful cultures and crafts with me. Their stories and creativity inspire me to continue creating.
